"RK 96 Real Rock Radio" started it in 1980 playing Adult Contemporary music. The station then headed by Mike Pedero (who established NU 107 in 1987), competed against 99.5 RT, Kiss FM 101.1 and other AC stations in Metro Manila.

Then in 1988, RK 96 rebranded as 96.3 WRocK. It began playing mostly lite rock music along with other love songs. The newly reformatted station made history as the "Original Lite Rock Radio".

For years 96.3 WRocK was still the only station that plays lite rock music, until 1995 when 103.5 K-Lite, a new station also played lite rock music, but definitely sounded different from 96.3 WRocK.  Time came when 96.3 WRocK filed a copyright infringement against 103.5 K-Lite for the use of the stingers that contained "it's the true light rock" and "light rock with a kick".

In October 26,2008, the program "Lite Rock Favorites of the Week" with Dylan Thomas and Cherry aired their finale. It was the moment that 96.3 WRocK officially said farewell after 20 years.

For almost 7 months, the station at 96.3 mHz aired automated lite rock music using the "WRocK" brand, but it was never a WRocK station as it aired lines from new DJ's and a new station 96.3 Easy Rock emerge to life on May 19, 2009.

WRocK briefly came to life as WRocK Online, an internet radio station broadcasting via hayag.com. Due to funding issues, it ceased to exist.

The only station that carries the "96.3 WRocK" brand is 96.3 DYRK-FM in Cebu City, where "The Heart of Lite Rock" is still beating strong!
